Efektifitas Edukasi Kesehatan Berbasis Infografis dalam Pencegahan Malaria terhadap Tingkat Pengetahuan Siswa di Sekolah SMPN 6 Medan

Malaria remains a public health problem in Indonesia, including among school-aged adolescents whose knowledge and attitudes toward prevention are not yet optimal. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of infographic-mu health education which includes material on the definition of malaria, brief facts about malaria, symptoms, risk factors, prevention measures, and data on malaria case trends in Indonesia on the knowledge and attitudes of students at SMP Negeri 6 Medan. A quantitative pretest-posttest study was conducted on 40 eighth-grade students using total sampling. Data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results showed an increase in knowledge from 26.0% to 94.2% and in positive attitudes from 43.5% to 90.0% after the education program. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between pre- and post-intervention measures (p-value < 0.001). It was concluded that infographic-based health education is effective in improving students’ knowledge and attitudes regarding malaria prevention. 6 Medan.
