Abstract

Halal tourism is a growing sector in line with the increasing awareness of the Muslim community regarding the principles of tourism activities. West Kalimantan Province has rich tourism potential, ranging from natural resources, historical destinations, to unique culinary delights that support the development of halal tourism. This study aims to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the development of halal tourism in West Kalimantan Province. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach and quantitative data analysis from official sources. The results indicate that West Kalimantan has great potential as a competitive halal tourism destination, but still faces challenges in infrastructure, promotion, and coordination between stakeholders. This SWOT analysis is expected to form the basis for developing a targeted and sustainable halal tourism development strategy. Thus, halal tourism development can be a driving force for the local economy while enhancing the image of West Kalimantan tourism on the national and international stage.
