Abstract

This study aims to identify and examine the influence of financial literacy, financial attitudes, hedonistic lifestyle, income (pocket money), and self-control on financial management behavior among accounting students. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consists of currently enrolled students in the Accounting Program in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The research sample consisted of 124 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted by distributing an online questionnaire (Google Forms), and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. Prior to hypothesis testing, validity and reliability tests were conducted, as well as classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The findings indicate that the research instrument met the required validity and reliability criteria, and all classical assumptions were fulfilled, allowing the regression analysis to be performed appropriately. The results of the study show that, collectively, financial literacy, financial attitudes, hedonistic lifestyle, income (allowance), and self-control have a significant influence on the financial management behavior of accounting students. These findings highlight the importance of improving financial literacy, fostering positive financial attitudes, strengthening self-control, and encouraging responsible financial habits to support better financial management behavior among university students.
