Transformasi Teknologi Mesin Bubut untuk Akurasi Desain Kerajinan Kayu pada KTH Sumber Makmur

The Forest Farmer Group (KTH) Sumber Makmur is a beginner-level wood crafting business unit located in Mojorayung Village, Madiun Regency, focusing on processing local timber such as jackfruit wood. Despite operating since 2020 with the support of the Forestry Service, the partner faces serious technical obstacles regarding production equipment. Based on observations and interviews, the primary problem lies in the limitations of the wood lathe machines, which consist of only two units with low technical specifications. The current machines operate at a non-adjustable rotational speed, possess low torque, experience frequent belt failures, and are limited to a maximum turning diameter of only 8 cm. These constraints result in low design precision, limited product variations, and an inability to meet market demand targets. As a solution, this community service program proposes the implementation of Precision Advance Speed Control technology and wood lathe modifications. This technological transformation includes dynamic rotational speed adjustment, increased torque, and indexable reversible rotation to support higher design accuracy. The implementation of this technology is expected to streamline the production process, enhance the craftsmen's effectiveness, and produce a more diverse and competitive range of wood crafts. This modernization serves as a strategic step to increase the economic competitiveness of KTH Sumber Makmur within the woodcraft industry.
