Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has created a significant gap between the intensity of technology use among students and their ethical understanding. This community service activity aimed to enhance AI ethics literacy among students of SMK Negeri 3 Denpasar through a seminar titled The Ethics of AI: Wise Use of AI by Maximizing Its Application. The activity was conducted in three structured phases: preparation, implementation (a 90-minute interactive seminar with pre-test and post-test), and evaluation using a 10-item Likert scale questionnaire (scale 1-5) administered to 40 participants representing students from grades X to XII of SMK Negeri 3 Denpasar. Data were analyzed descriptively and using the N-Gain index. Results indicated that the mean pre-test score of 4.00 (Good category) increased to 4.29 (Very Good category) in the post-test, yielding an N-Gain value of 0.29 (Moderate category). Participants classified as Very Good increased from 35% to 67.5%. The highest improvements were recorded on awareness toward fake AI-generated content (+0.73) and motivation for AI for Good use (+0.37). This activity demonstrates that an interactive AI ethics seminar is effective as an educational intervention to improve digital literacy among youth, particularly regarding responsibility, data privacy, and critical thinking in the context of technological development
