Abstract

This study aims to describe the process and impact of empowering students and the community of Ujung Negeri Village in developing social skills through collaboration and innovation. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design, involving students and community members who actively participated in empowerment activities. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that empowerment based on collaboration and innovation contributes positively to the development of students’ and community members’ social skills, as reflected in improved communication, cooperation, empathy, and social responsibility, as well as increased social participation and awareness. Collaborative interactions created meaningful social engagement and strengthened social relationships, while innovative empowerment activities encouraged active involvement of all participants. Therefore, empowering students and the community through collaboration and innovation is an effective strategy for enhancing social skills and fostering a more inclusive and participatory social environment at the village level.
