Penguatan Pola Asuh melalui Buku Pemantauan Tumbuh Kembang dan Deteksi Dini Perkembangan Anak serta Remaja Berbasis Psikososial di Desa Sambilawang

Childhood and adolescence are critical periods in human life. Optimizing child and adolescent growth and development requires the involvement of parents, educators, and the surrounding environment through an understanding of developmental stages, appropriate stimulation, parenting practices, and early detection. The national stunting prevalence of 19.8% in 2024 indicates that greater efforts are still needed to strengthen healthcare and nutritional support, as well as child growth and development monitoring. Observations and interviews in Sambilawang Village indicated limited parental knowledge and a lack of sustainable educational resources. This community service program aimed to strengthen parenting practices through the dissemination of the “Teman Tumbuh Si Kecil” book using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, encompassing needs assessment, educational material development, dissemination, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and interview-based evaluation. The book was intended for parents, village authorities, educators, community organizations, and community representatives. The results demonstrated improved understanding of child development, age-appropriate stimulation, parenting practices, developmental red flags, and the importance of continuous developmental monitoring. The book also supported the application of knowledge in daily parenting practices and showed potential to enhance parenting literacy and facilitate community-based early detection of child developmental concerns.
