Peran Stres Kerja dan Motivasi Kerja dalam Memediasi Pengaruh Beban Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Pegawai

This study aims to analyze the influence of workload on employee performance both directly and indirectly through the mediation of work stress and work motivation at the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) in the interior of West Kalimantan. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study is 57 BKPSDM employees. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling method based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results of the study show that workload has a negative and significant effect on employee performance. Workload also has a positive and significant effect on work stress and has a negative and significant effect on work motivation. Furthermore, work stress has been shown to have a negative and significant effect on employee performance, while work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The results of the mediation test showed that work stress and work motivation significantly mediated the influence of workload on employee performance in a negative influence direction. Theoretically, this study enriches the study of public sector human resource management by emphasizing the role of work stress and work motivation as a psychological mechanism that explains the relationship between workload and employee performance, while practically this finding provides implications for the management of ASN in rural areas in designing policies for workload distribution, stress control, and strengthening work motivation to improve employee performance.
